Mizzou fans who were hoping to watch Marcus Denmon with the San Antonio Spurs this coming year might be slightly disappointed. Denmon announced on Wednesday that has agreed to play with ES Chalon-Sur-Saone in France.

According to Sports.fr, Denmon said:

I am very happy to come to Chalon. This is a great opportunity for me to move from my university to the highest European level, namely the Euroleague. I know I have much development to make in order to improve to make it in the NBA and I'm convinced I made the right choice.

Denmon was drafted with the No. 59 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, after averaging 17.6 points per game in his senior season at Missouri.

As expected, the Spurs will retain his NBA rights while he gains experience playing in a professional league over in Europe.
