The Mizzou basketball team will go head-to-head with the 2011-12 NIT champion Stanford Cardinal when they open up the Battle 4 Atlantis on Nov. 22. Opening round matchups for the tournament were announced on Thursday and Missouri joins Stanford, Louisville, Duke, Memphis, VCU, Minnesota and Northern Iowa in the event.
Missouri and Stanford, sharing their side of the bracket with Louisville and Northern Iowa, will face each other at noon. The other side of the bracket features Duke vs. Minnesota and Memphis vs. VCU. Missouri, is coming off a 30-5 record and a 2012 Big 12 Championship, will play its first season in the SEC.
This tournament appears to set up for Missouri and Duke to meet in the finals, or even Louisville and VCU if it became really interesting.
