Just moments prior to when the Missouri Tigers took the field against the Arizona St. Sun Devils, it was announced that quarterback James Franklin would not be playing for Missouri on Saturday night. Franklin had been questionable all week with a sore shoulder after he was beat up last week against the Georgia Bulldogs.
The sore shoulder is the same one that he had surgery during the off season.Replacing Franklin on Saturday is freshman Corbin Berkstresser who is making his first career start.
It should be noted that Franklin is in pads so it could be possible that Franklin enters the game, however it is highly unlikely that Franklin will see any time on the field.
The game is still early in the first quarter and Berkstressser is struggling as he is only 1-for-4 for three yards, and has rushed for 19 yards with one touchdown run. Early in the first quarter Missouri is leading Arizona State 10-0.
