The Missouri Tigers welcomed their first SEC opponent to Columbia on Saturday, losing to the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs in a game that was both encouraging and incredibly frustrating.
Mizzou held a 20-17 lead late in the third quarter before allowing 24 unanswered points by the Bulldogs across the end of the third quarter and into the fourth. The Tigers were unable to make any significant stops on defense as the offense's costly mistakes late in the game prevented any attempt to stop the bleeding and to get back in the game.
James Franklin was 25-of-42 for 267 yards and two touchdowns, yet a late interception in the fourth quarter proved to be one of the more costly mistakes of the game.
Nevertheless, the team was encouraged after their first big SEC test and felt the mistakes were their undoing and not being outmatched by a good Georgia Bulldogs team.
Here are the highlights from the game.
