The Oklahoma City Thunder will hire Darko Rajakovic to be the head coach of their D-League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers, according to Adrian Wojarnowski of Yahoo Sports.
Rajakovic will come to the 66ers from Spain where he has been the head coach Torrelodones for the past three years. Rajakovic is following Dale Osbourne and and Nate Tibbets in Tulsa as they were both promoted to assistant coaches with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Cleveland Cavaliers respectively.
Thunder general manager Sam Presti has had a relationship with Rajakovic since his days as the assistant general manager of the San Antonio Spurs.
The 66ers failed to qualify for the playoffs as they finished 23-27 last season which was good enough for sixth in the NBADL Western Conference.
Oklahoma City's first round pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Reggie Jackson, played one game for Tulsa last year while 2010 first round pick Lazar Hayward played three games in the D-League.
