The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to get past the Phoenix Suns 107-97 in preseason action on Friday night. The Thunder were able win on the strength of 22 points by Kevin Durant, and another18 from Russell Westbrook.

Oklahoma City was able to get the win despite that James Harden and Perry Jones III did not see the court, and the box score listed them as not playing due to a coaches decision. Harden had missed the past two games with a groin injury, and there was speculation that he might have returned to the lineup on Friday.

This was a back-and-forth game for the first half, with the Thunder leading by a single point. The second half is when the Thunder slowly pulled away. Thunder used a 17-6 run in the third quarter to push their lead to 12 points, and after three periods Oklahoma City led by 11.

In the fourth quarter the Thunder went on a 12-2 run to push their lead to 15 points with 4:13 left in the game, and that really was the nail in the coffin against the Suns.

Both teams actually had nearly identically stats with field goal percentage and free throw percentage, but the difference was that the Thunder made nine shots from three-point range, while the Suns converted just five.
