The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 88-76, in their final NBA preseason game on Wednesday night.
Led by a strong effort from the starters, the Thunder built a 53-40 halftime lead and rode that lead to the win. Kevin Durant led Oklahoma City with 18 points while adding seven rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes of play. James Harden added 16 points and five assists off the bench, while Serge Ibaka posted 15 points and seven rebounds in just 22 minutes.
Rookie forward Jae Crowder led the Mavericks in scoring with 21 points on 10-of-19 shooting, while also pulling down nine rebounds. Crowder comes to Dallas after being the Big East Player of the Year. The only other Dallas player in double figures was Brandan Wright, the fourth-year pro. He contributed 11 points in 18 minutes of play off the bench. New Mavericks O.J. Mayo and Elton Brand chipped in nine and eight points each.
The Thunder finish the preseason with a 4-3 record, and open the regular season on Thurs., Nov. 1 on the road against the San Antonio Spurs.
