In addition to having the privilege of watching one of the best and most entertaining teams in the NBA, Oklahoma City Thunder fans will now also get the pleasure of new features and amenities at Chesapeake Energy Arena as part of new, ongoing renovations to the hometown arena.

A new Grand Entrance, a new restaurant called the Center Course Grill and a Kids Zone playing area in the main concourse are among the new changes announced by the team on Tuesday. Other changes include skyboxes and summit boxes and private suites on the top level.

Citizens have been paying a one-cent sales tax to help fund the improvements to the arena to help the small-market team keep up with other, newer arenas in more-established NBA cities. The current renovations are expected to be complete in 2013.

Oklahoma City's home schedule opens on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers, one night after OKC travels to play the San Antonio Spurs to open the season.
