The Oklahoma City Thunder pushed up to the top of the Northwest Division and stayed there over the weekend with two big wins. On Friday, the Thunder took down the Detroit Pistons, 105-94. They had a similarly big win on Sunday, putting up over 100 points again during a 106-91 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kevin Durant paced the team with 51 points over the two games. The two wins left them at 5-2, on top of the division by half a game.
Elsewhere in the Northwest, the Denver Nuggets (4-3) and Minnesota Timberwolves (4-2) kept pace right behind the Thunder. Denver, led by Andre Iguodala and Danilo Gallinari, won both games of a weekend back-to-back against the Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors. The Nuggets have taken four straight wins now after a dismal 0-3 start to the season. Minnesota split its weekend back-to-back with a win over the Indiana Pacers and a loss to the Chicago Bulls.
The Portland Trail Blazers remain at the bottom of the Northwest, losing their only game of the weekend to the San Antonio Spurs, 112-109.
