NBA scores: Thunder fall to Celtics, Blazers beat Timberwolves

Oklahoma City continues to search for consistency on the defensive end they mustered last season, falling to the Celtics on Friday.

There were no games on Thanksgiving, but the NBA was back at it on Friday with 12 games on the schedule, including the Oklahoma City Thunder losing to the Boston Celtics, 108-100, in Beantown.

Kevin Durant dropped 29 points and Russell Westbrook added 26 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in a losing effort. Serge Ibaka had a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Paul Pierce put in 27 points and Rajon Rondo had 16 assists and eight rebounds to lead the Celtics. Former Thunder forward Jeff Green came back to haunt his former team with 17 points off the bench.

The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 103-95, in a divisional showdown. The Blazers got 58 points from their starting backcourt of Wesley Matthews and Damian Lillard. Kevin Love put in 24 points with 13 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves in the losing cause.

The Denver Nuggets knocked off the Golden State Warriors, 102-91, in Denver. Andre Iguodala scored a season-high 29 points and Ty Lawson had 18 points and nine assists to lead the Nuggets. Danilo Gallinari also pitched in 20 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors were led by David Lee's 21 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

The Utah Jazz won a nail-biter at home over the Sacramento Kings, 104-102. The Jazz were down by seven heading into the fourth quarter, but were able to come back behind Gordon Hayward's 23 points off the bench. Derrick Favors came off the bench to add 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Jazz overcame a poor shooting night to get the win.

The Kings had six players in double figures including 18 points off the bench from Marcus Thornton.
