The Oklahoma City Thunder are off to a dominant start to the week, blasting the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday and handling the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night in James Harden's first game against his old team.
Oklahoma City built a commanding 64-24 halftime lead over the Bobcats and cruised to a 114-69 blowout win at home. Kevin Durant led a balanced scoring attack with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting along with six rebounds, four assists and four blocks.
Also on Monday, the Brooklyn Nets topped the New York Knicks in overtime, 96-89, in the first battle of New York City's two teams.
Harden shot 3-for-16 from the field on Wednesday, scoring 17 points as the Thunder used strong second and fourth quarters to earn the 120-98 victory. Durant poured in 37 points (13-of-22 shooting) while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing four assists. Serge Ibaka, hitting 11 of his 13 shots from the floor, posted 23 points to go along with nine rebounds and six blocks.
Elsewhere on Wednesday, the Washington Wizards notched their first win of the season, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, 84-82.
