Perkins suffered a hip strain in the first quarter of a Game 4 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. The rest time for the Thunder of course has been critical for Perkins' recovery, with Oklahoma City taking care of its business in four games, while it took the Lakers seven games to put away the Denver Nuggets.
Playing against the Lakers, having a healthy Kendrick Perkins is paramount of the Thunder defensively, while it is suspected that acquiring Perkins in the first place was about matching up with teams that have post presences like L.A.
