After playing only 17 minutes in the Oklahoma City Thunder's dominating Game 1 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, Thunder center Kendrick Perkins is still a game-time decision for Wednesday's Game 2 due to a hip strain he suffered in Oklahoma City's first-round sweep over the Dallas Mavericks.
In comments with the media, Thunder coach Scott Brooks said he knew that Perkins would be eager to play, so he would lean more on the opinions of his medical staff as to whether his center should play.
While he only scored four points on 2-2 shooting in Game 1, Perkins' post defense on Andrew Bynum is still vital for Oklahoma City. At 6'10 270, he's the only one of the Thunder big men who can hold his position in the low post against the gargantuan Bynum.
