Thunder Vs. Lakers: Kevin Durant Explains 'I Was So Anxious To Tie The Game'

The last minute heroics of Kevin Durant in Saturday night’s game four victory over the Los Angeles Lakers will forgive any nerves that affected him earlier. But after the Oklahoma City Thunder won a come-from-behind effort last night, the team’s icon admitted he was nervous when missing free throws down the stretch.

“I was so anxious,” said Durant. “We were down the whole game, (and) I was so anxious to tie the game up I guess I was a little too excited. I didn’t calm down. But I knew that that was over with I’ve got to move onto the next play. We got a stop and Russell (Westbrook) had confidence in me that I was going to make the next shot.”

Durant finished with 31 points and the Thunder are now just one game away from advancing to the Western Conference finals, presumably against the San Antonio Spurs who are also one victory away as well against the Los Angeles Clippers.
