Russell Westbrook Will Not Change His Game

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook took some heat from ABC analyst Magic Johnson after calling his Game 2 NBA Finals performance one of the worst ever by a point guard. Westbrook's stat line was impressive as he scored 27 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Nonetheless, Westbrook received criticism from Johnson and Westbrook commented by saying that he will not change his game:

"I'm not making no adjustments, regardless of what anybody says," Westbrook said Saturday before the Thunder's practice. "I'm going to play my game regardless of what happens." [...]

"It's just something that comes along with the territory," Westbrook said. "We're in the NBA Finals now and the more negative you hear, the better you're doing. That's how I look at it."

The critique of Westbrook's game is likely coming his way because he has shot the ball a team-high 50 times in the NBA Finals which is eight more than Kevin Durant, and Westbrook is also shooting only 40 percent from the field. Both his coach Scott Brooks and Durant are backing up the point guard and his play.
