Griffin suffered a knee injury earlier Thursday, and former Kentucky center and Anthony Davis was called up to Olympic training camp. You can watch Griffin's injury here.
Griffin went back to Los Angeles to get checked out by Clippers doctors. Davis was one of the final cuts for Team USA, but had been dealing with an ankle injury of his own. Davis is on the bench for Team USA's game against the Dominican Republic on Thursday night.
The Americans are already short on big men, so a thin position just got thinner — literally, given Davis' build. However, Davis might be a better interior defender with his length and elite shot-blocking ability.
