OKC Thunder Focused On Keeping James Harden

The Oklahoma City Thunder are planning on keeping James Harden around long-term, despite signing Serge Ibaka to a four-year, $48 million dollar deal.

Whether or not Harden decides to sign another contract to remain in Oklahoma City is ultimately up to him, but the Thunder are going to do everything they can in an effort to keep Harden around.

"We're going to continue our conversations with James. We very much value him," Presti said. "We want him to be a part of our organization moving forward. We're excited that he's a member of the Thunder and we're hopeful that he'll be with us for years moving forward."

Harden will likely have to take slightly less money to stay in Oklahoma City, as Kurt Helin points out. Otherwise, Harden will hit restricted free agency next summer and could seek out a max contract from another team in the league.
