If anyone noticed that Team USA didn't play one of their big men last night in the first half in a game where the deepest roster players should have been on the floor against Nigeria, that's because Anthony Davis did not his jersey against Nigeria in the 2012 London Olympics. Without proper attire, he couldn't enter the game.
"Davis ran up to the scorer's table, but had to come back and sit down when he realized he never put it on after warm-ups," writes Kurt Helin. "The rest of the American bench simply could not stop laughing - Kevin Love and LeBron James were cracking up. Even Krzyzewski almost thought it was funny. Almost. Davis did play much of the second half."
After the game, Kevin Love took to Twitter to tease his teammate:
Look very closely at this photo...notice anything? The Rookie Didn't put his jersey on!!!instagr.am/p/N3W_elM9y6/— Kevin Love (@kevinlove) August 3, 2012
Davis eventually entered the game in the second half and had 9 points and 6 rebounds.
