The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Saturday the signing of center Daniel Orton to what is basically a training camp contract since the team's roster is already at 15 players.
Orton was selected with the 29th overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic after one season at the University of Kentucky. Orton had been nursing a knee injury ever sense high school and played just 16 games over two seasons with the Magic.
Orton will get the opportunity to impress the Thunder front office in training camp and could earn his way onto the roster. However, if he doesn't make the team out of camp he could stick around and play for the Thunder's NBA D-League affiliate in Tulsa.
