Team USA Defeats Argentina: LeBron James, Kevin Durant Lead United States To Victory

With another victory over their latest opponent Argentina, Team USA is now undefeated heading into the quarterfinals and they have claimed the top spot in Group A at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. This latest victory was a close game at halftime, but Kevin Durant, likely the game's most valuable player, put the game away with a long-distance shooting display that had everyone in the building excited.

Marc Stein of ESPN says that LeBron James deserves a mention as a potential MVP of the game, but it's hard to ignore Durant's display.

"Durant's shooting, good for 17 points alone in the third quarter to match Argentina's total for period, was impossible to ignore," writes Stein. "It's really a coin flip with James, given how LeBron got the ball inside to start the second and changed the personality of proceedings, but 8-for-10 shooting from behind the line tends to get your attention. KD by a hair."
