Kevin Boss injury: Tony Moeaki says he'll 'be ready' for Ravens

It was revealed Wednesday that the Kansas City Chiefs were going to have to put tight end Kevin Boss on injured reserve with a head injury. With Boss now out for the season, that leaves Tony Moeaki as the lone receiving threat at tight end for the Chiefs. Moeaki himself missed most of the 2011 season due to an ACL tear, one of the primary reasons that Boss was signed as insurance at the position. Now Moeaki will be the man to watch against the Baltimore Ravens if any tight end passing plays are called.

In a team press conference, Moeaki talked about how he was the lone threat left at tight end for the Chiefs against the Ravens and the disappointment in losing Boss:

Q: Is Kevin Boss OK? Is he having headaches or anything?

MOEAKI: "Obviously, he’s disappointed, upset that he can’t play anymore, and I’ll just leave it at that."

Q: What do you see when you look at Baltimore?

MOEAKI: "Baltimore has been a great team for a number of years here. Their defense has been their main thing all these years, so we’ve got to be ready. We won’t overlook them at all. They’ll come in ready to go and so will we."

Q: With Kevin gone, do you feel more of a sense of responsibility to catch a few more balls and do a little more?

MOEAKI: "Yeah, we were both taking a lot of reps. Once you’re in the game plan, you have the same sense of responsibilities. I’ll be ready. Obviously, missing Kevin is big, but me and the other tight ends will be ready."
