Marcus Morris was a counselor at Ama're Stoudemire's big man camp this week and, according to one Kansas Jayhawks recruit, he was the best looking one there out there (via KUSports.com):

Future Kansas University power forward Zach Peters, a 6-foot-9, 235-pounder from Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas, who observed the action, said KU junior forward Morris emerged as the best of the lot.

“He’s looking really good,” said Peters, who also has accepted an invitation to the 80-player LeBron James Academy, starting this weekend in Ohio.

Other players included: Denzel Bowles, Gus Gilchrist, JaMychal Green, Enes Kanter, Curtis Kelly, Vernon Macklin, Gary McGhee, Greg Smith, Jared Sullinger, Trey Thompkins and Derrick Williams.

Not a bad group to be considered the best.

The current crop of Jayhawks can beat former Jayhawks.

Whew?

Marcus Morris and Connor Teahan led the way for the current Jayhawks with 11 points each in a 65-45 victory over alumni at Bill Self's summer basketball camp game.

Last time the two teams met, there was a bruised back, broken bone and some blood. This time around things were a little more calm.

Mario Chalmers for the alumni led the way with 15 points.

Kansas basketball players are participating in a game at Bill Self's basketball camp today. Former KU players are invited to attend and it looks like there are a few of them already in the house.

It looks like the alumni team will have a few more players this week, as Keith Langford, Christian Moody, Jeff Hawkins and Mario Chalmers are all on the court. We'll see if all of them play.

Mario Chalmers is probably the most known out of that group for the shot in the NCAA final.

We'll see if there are any blood or broken bones in this game.

Kansas basketball fans had a scare last week when Marcus Morris was injured while trying to grab a rebound in a scrimmage at Bill Self's basketball camp. He was helped off the court before the diagnosis of a "bruised back" came out. Translation: He's fine.

“It’s better,” Marcus Morris said of his back. “The day it happened, I could barely walk. I think it was the immediate pain that really hurt me. I’m getting better. It was very scary.”

A few minutes after Morris went down, his brother, Markieff and Thomas Robinson, banged heads and blood came running down Robinson's face.

Robinson's injury was slightly more serious -- a broken nose -- and he wasn't supposed to have contact for a week.

Well, it's been one week since the injury occurred and it sounds like he'll be participating in another game today.

“My teammates had a talk. We got it together, what we’re going to do, how we’re going to play, so it’s not going to be as physical,” Robinson said of Wednesday’s second and final camp game in which KU alumni are welcome to play.

Two alumni showed up -- Jeff Hawkins and Brad Witherspoon. The Jayhawks will take the court about 3:30 p.m. today.

Kansas had quite an eventful scrimmage at Bill Self's basketball camp. Marcus Morris took a fall that caused a few folks to panic but in the end, all is well. Here's the rundown on the KU "injuries" if we can call them that:

Marcus Morris: Bruised back and will be out a few days

Thomas Robinson: Broken nose and can't have contact for one week

Markieff Morris: Stitches in his mouth

At first glance, this doesn't appear to be serious. But the Marcus Morris injury does have the potential to be serious.

This isn't good.

Kansas is holding its alumni/current players game for Bill Self's basketball camp and star forward Marcus Morris was injured during a play.

Per KUSports.com, Thomas Robinson was going up for a rebound then pump-faked and, somehow, in the process Morris went to the ground.

Morris attempted to walk it off but went back to the ground. Several teammates are huddled around him and the campers in the stands have started the "Mar-cus, Mar-cus" chant.

After about 3 minutes on the ground, Morris got up gingerly, unable to put much weight on left leg.

Morris was carried off the court by his brother along with Little and Robinson.

That doesn't sound too good.

We'll update once more information comes out. For now, hop on over to SB Nation's Rock Chalk Talk to see what Kansas fans have to say.
