Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Maurice Leggett has been cleared to practice after suffering a neck injury last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With Cameron Sheffield suffering a neck injury on Friday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, it was the second time in two weeks a Chief had been carted off the field with a neck injury.

The good news is that Leggett is going to be fine. He was back observing practice last week and he's been cleared this week.

Whether he actually practices or not will be determined by the coaching staff on Monday when the Chiefs open for their first practice of the week.

Kansas City Chiefs safety Maurice Leggett was carted off the field on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with what's been called a neck injury.

After the game, Haley told reporters the "initial signs on extremities were positive", according to Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com.

Leggett will stay in Tampa overnight.

He was trying to tackle Bucs running back Kareem Huggins when he went to the ground.

Trainers came out and tended to him for 10-15 minutes before a cart came onto the field. He was put onto a stretcher and carried off.

The Chiefs and Bucs sidelines both had come onto the field. The Chiefs huddled in a team prayer at one point.
