Here's your daily dose of Kansas City sports news...

Royals win in extras again

The Royals played two against the White Sox on Saturday night (and into Sunday morning) and then a third game on Sunday afternoon.

The Royals won two of three. All three went into extra innings. Sunday's ended with Jason Kendall knocking in the game-winning hit.

That's why the doubleheader on Saturday didn't finish until after 1:00 a.m. (it started at 6:00 p.m.).

The Royals have now won six of nine after getting swept by the Angels. They've got three against the Tigers coming up.

Chiefs continue with training camp after 20-15 loss to the Bucs

The Chiefs lost 20-15 to the Bucs on Saturday night but did some good things.

There were more reasons to be hopeful after this game than the Falcons game.

They'll continue with training camp this week but at their facilities at the Truman Sports Complex. That will last the next three days before they prepare for the Eagles arrival to Arrowhead.

Danario gets a deal

After six months, Danario Alexander is in the NFL.

He injured his knee (again) in February knocking him out of the NFL Combine as well as the NFL draft.

After rehabbing his knee and holding a workout for NFL teams, the Rams have signed Alexander.

He'll join the team with two preseason games remaining.

Turner Gill comes to KC

Turner Gill made his way to Prairie Village on Saturday night. I actually made the short trip over there to see him speak at the KU kickoff.

The problem?

Rain. Lots of it.

We could barely hear what he had to say as we were huddled out of the rain but here's what the Star says:

"I know you guys wanna get dry, no?" Gill shouted over the microphone. "I like that because it’s just like a football game. I want to make sure that you’re gonna be there for the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter and fourth quarter every single game."

KU fans liked to leave at halftime last year so Gill has been pushing for people to stay the entire game.
