SB Nation's BlogPoll is a top 25 of college football rankings voted on by a number of blogs from across the blogosphere. The rankings usually matchup up somewhat well with the AP, USA Today/Coaches and BCS standings. This week Mizzou lines up perfectly with the BCS rankings coming in at sixth.

Mizzou is seventh in the AP poll and 8th in the USA Today/Coaches poll.

What's surprising here is that Mizzou also received one first place from the blog Boys of Florida. Here's their reasoning:

Auburn was a close call for me. But Missouri has a much better scoring defense (13.14 ppg v. 23.5 ppg). They have about the same scoring offenses (34.71 ppg for Mizzou to 38.63 ppg for AU) and virtually the same SOS. It was Mizzou's defense that gave them the edge.

I can't blame them for that. Mizzou's defense is what's vaulting them into the conversation from a national perspective. Mizzou's next opponent, Nebraska, hops up two spots to No. 14 in the BlogPoll.

The Mizzou Tigers were projected to be the No. 6 team in the latest BCS rankings and the projections were right. The BCS standings have been released and the Missouri Tigers land at No. 6.

Ahead of Mizzou, starting at No. 1 is Auburn, Oregon, Boise State, TCU and Michigan State. Mizzou is the last of a string of six straight undefeated teams at the top of the polls. Alabama, with one loss, follows Mizzou.

Oklahoma, who Mizzou beat on Saturday night, falls to No. 9. They were No. 1 in the BCS standings last week before their 36-27 loss to Mizzou.

Mizzou's next opponent, Nebraska, is No. 14. The Tigers will travel to Lincoln in what is now the biggest game of the year. That's the life of an undefeated team. Every game is bigger than your last one.

Mizzou is a top 10 team according to the latest college football rankings.

After being ranked 18th in the AP poll last week, the Mizzou Tigers vaulted up to No. 7 this week.

It's simply an incredible ride for Mizzou to this point. They haven't showed any significant weaknesses, their defense is strong, the quarterback is efficient, running game tends to dominate at times and they've already beaten the No. 1 team in the country.

What else do you need?

The Tigers, ranked No. 7 in the AP poll, now face Nebraska in Lincoln.

Last week's game against Oklahoma was huge. Very huge, actually. But now, as it goes in college football, the next game is the biggest. The Tigers face Nebraska on Saturday and, if they can get it done there, the questions of running the table truly start.

Is this still the Big 12?

In the last year we'll see 12 teams in the Big 12 the traditional powerhouses aren't dominating this conference.

Instead it's Mizzou's who's the real strong point of this conference. They're sitting at 7-0 and in control of the conference with a trip to Lincoln on the schedule.

Here's how the Big 12 shakes out in the USA Today / Coaches Poll.

- No. 8 Missouri
- No. 11 Oklahoma
- No. 12 Nebraska
- No. 20 Oklahoma State
- No. 24 Baylor

Texas lost to Iowa State this week knocking them out of the top 25. Welcoming into the top 25 is.....Baylor? Yes, Baylor is ranked ahead of Texas. Strange world we live in.

After two months of the Big 12, it's MIzzou who's in the driver's seat.

Helloooo Mizzou!

The Tigers, ranked 16th in the USA Today/Coaches poll last week, jumped up eight spots to hang onto No. 8 in the USA Today/Coaches poll.

The Tigers beat Oklahoma on Saturday night. The hype for that game was unbelievable and Mizzou lived up to it beating the Sooners 36-27 in Columbia, MO.

It probably helps the Tigers that the game was on national TV and they looked very, very good. Mizzou has now dominated their start to the Big 12.

They beat Colorado 26-0, Texas A&M 30-9 and now Oklahoma 36-27. That defense is so, so impressive and, as Kirk Herbtstreit said on ESPN's College GameDay, it isn't a fluke: The MIzzou defense has been doing it all year long.
