I argued last week that the Missouri Tigers should be ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners in college football rankings because they have similar losses and Mizzou had the edge in the head to head matchup. Maybe somebody was listening because in at least one of the polls the Tigers leaped Oklahoma.

Mizzou sits at No. 15 while Oklahoma is right behind them at No. 16. The Tigers beat No. 24 Kansas State this weekend while the Sooners beat Texas Tech. Previously the Tigers were No. 20 and the Sooners were No. 19.

Oregon sits at the top followed by Auburn, Boise State, TCU and LSU. In the USA Today Coaches' poll Wisconsin is the top one-loss team but the AP poll says it's LSU.

In the Big 12, Nebraska comes in at No. 9, Oklahoma state at No. 12, Missouri at No. 15, Oklahoma at No. 16, Texas A&M at No. 18,

The Missouri Tigers were No. 20 in last week's college football rankings. This week the USA Today Coaches' poll takes Mizzou to No. 16, a four spot jump. The Tigers end the season against Iowa State and Kansas -- two games they're expected to win -- so they could continue to climb as the season goes. Is top 10 possible? I'm not sure but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Oregon and Auburn hang on at the top while Boise State comes in third and TCU, who escaped San Diego State on Sunday, comes in fourth. Wisconsin, the top one-loss team, rounds out the top five.

The highest ranked Big 12 team is Nebraska at No. 8 followed by Oklahoma State (No. 10), Oklahoma (No. 14), Mizzou and then Texas A&M (No. 19). Last week Oklahoma was ranked No. 16 while Mizzou was No. 20. I made some noise about that saying Mizzou should be given consideration to pass Oklahoma. OU took a two-spot jump this week while Mizzou jumped four. They're now two spots away from each other in the Coaches' poll.

The Missouri Tigers were ranked 17th in the BCS standings last week and the rankings had Kansas State at No. 24. Mizzou beat the Wildcats on Saturday meaning K-State will likely be dropping out of the top 25. The Tigers will be moving up at least a couple of spots.

No. 13 Iowa and No. 14 Utah lost last week which means Mizzou likely moves up to No. 15, if they're not leaped by anyone. Oklahoma was ranked No. 16 last week, directly ahead of Mizzou. The Sooners beat the same Texas Tech team that beat Mizzou last week so I'm not sure the Tigers jump them.

Missouri ends the season with game against Iowa State and Kansas so we're thinking they finish 10-2. That's a solid season but almost disappointing after the 7-0 start.

Here's how the BCS rankings looked last week:
