The Kansas State Wildcats dropped their second game of the season on Saturday but this time in far less dramatic fashion than their first loss to the No. 1 team in the country Duke Blue Devils. In the Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, Fla., Frank Martin's Wildcats lost to the Florida Gators, 57-44. K-State is the No. 6 team in the country.

K-State controlled this game in the beginning commanding themselves to a 20-8 lead before allowing Florida to take control as they went on a 42-13 run. Kansas State's 44 points was the lowest amount of points scored in the Frank Martin era.

Kansas State's loss is especially disheartening to a pair of players -- Martavious Irving and Freddy Aspirilla -- whose hometowns are in the South Florida area, as well as Martin.

Kansas State shot a miserable 26 percent from the field and simply had no offense for much of the game. Jacob Pullen scored 19 points but beyond that the next highest scorer on KSU was Martavious Irving with eight. Kansas State's starters combined for nine points.

This is a game Kansas State is going to want to forget. Frank Martin has this season said his team has a long way to go and I think this game is a clear indication of that. Kansas State is a very good team, don't get me wrong. But they have a while to go. Martin's the right man for the job and they'll be much better in March but right now they need to correct some flaws.

Kansas State moves to 9-2 on the year.
