Former Michigan QB Tate Forcier is transferring and has narrowed his choices down to five schools, according to ESPN's Joe Schad. Those schools include Miami and Kansas State. According to Schad, Forcier was headed to Miami on Monday for his first visit.

Schad reported last week that Miami or Kansas State was going to be the first school he visited. Perhaps this means that Kansas State will be the next school he visits if Miami was first.

Forcier would be a nice addition for Kansas State who doesn't have a definitive quarterback situation right now. I'm sure that's why they're hoping he actually visits Manhattan and doesn't decide to stay in Miami.

In addition to Miami and Kansas State, Forcier has his eye on three more schools including Arizona, Washington and Montana.

Forcier is transferring from Michigan after QB Denard Robinson broke out this year. Forcier threw for 2,647 yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 20 career games.

QB Tate Forcier announced two weeks ago via Twitter his intention to leave the Michigan Wolverines and transfer to another school. On Jan. 20, he wrote via Twitter:

I really wanted to stay. I was not giving up on Michigan, but in the end, it was made clear they had given up on me.

Forcier started as a freshman in 2009 before QB Denard Robinson took his spot in 2010. He's said he's leaving before but it appears this time it's serious. He was ruled ineligible for the Gator Bowl.

ESPN's Joe Schad reports Forcier has five schools on his short list for potential transfer options including Kansas State, Washington, Arizona, Miami and Montana. He expects to start visiting schools as early as Monday and Schad says he'll probably do Kansas State or Miami first.

Kansas State's quarterback situation isn't exactly ideal right now so the opportunity to play could be there with the Wildcats. It's unclear if he has a front-runner at this point.

Forcier threw for 2,647 yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 20 career games.
