The Associated Press has released the first and second All-American team with no sign of Kansas State basketball's Jacob Pullen. You'll have to look at the third team to find him. Pullen was one of five players on the AP All-American third team after a terrific year in which he averaged 19.5 points and 3.7 assists per game.

It was the second half of the season that was special for Pullen as he helped bring K-State back from the dead following early season struggles. K-State made a run at the end of the season which helped secure a spot in the 2011 NCAA tournament bracket where they bowed out in the second round with a loss to Wisconsin.

Pullen had a special career at K-State and one I imagine that would even impress KU fans.

Joining him on the third team is Texas' Jordan Hamilton, Morehead State's Kenneth Faried, Xavier's Tu Holloway, and Providence's Marshon Brooks.

He didn't make the first team which I felt was a slight surprise but he's on the second team. The Associated Press All-American second team is out and KU basketball's Marcus Morris finds his way on there. Morris finished the season averaging oer 17 points and seven boards per game on one of the top two teams in the country. Well deserved, to say the least.

Joining him on the second team is Arizona sophomore Derrick Williams, Notre Dame's Ben Hansbrough, Wisconsin's Jordan Taylor and San Diego State's Kawhi Leonard.

The name that jumps out at me on that list is Williams. I admit I didn't watch much Arizona basketball this year but his game against Duke in the Sweet 16 was simple incredible. You don't often see someone completely take over a game the way he did.

Kansas fans aren't feeling too good right now after the loss to VCU in the Elite Eight so they can take some solace in the fact that they had one of the best players of the year on their team.
The Associated Press has released college basketball's All-American first team and Kansas Jayhawks basketball's Marcus Morris is nowhere to be found. The KU big man did not make the first team after landing on the Big 12 first-team as well as winning the conference's player of the year.

There were three seniors that made the team including BYU's Jimmer Fredette, Duke's Nolan Smith and Purdue's JuJuan Johnson. UConn junior Kemba Walker as on the list as was Ohio State freshman Jared Sullinger.

Fredette was awarded the United States Basketball Writers National Player of the Year.

I'm a little surprised Morris wasn't on there as I thought he was the best player on the first or second best team much of the year. Morris finished the year averaging 17.2 points and 7.6 boards per game. He was a constant much of the year for KU who had a deep team.

The guys that did make it, though, were all well deserving. Fredette lit the college basketball world on fire as one of the best scorers we remember in quite some time. We'd be remiss not to mention UConn's Walker when talking about scorers as he exploded through the Big East tournament leading UConn to the final four.
