It was one of the ugliest NCAA championship finals that I remember but I'm not sure UConn cares. The Huskies will take a title any way they can. Connecticut beat Butler on Monday night in the NCAA championship game, 53-41. Neither team shot well and, if you're a fan of exciting basketball, you probably wouldn't have liked this game.

The two teams scored 2.35 points per minute. To hit the over/under of 131.5 points, they would need to play 16 more minutes.

It was 22-19 at halftime and the stars for both teams just couldn't hit anything. Butler's Matt Howard went 1-of-13 from the field and scored seven points. Kemba Walker hit 5-of-19 shots and scored 16 points.

Butler especially had problems scoring. Andrew Smith shot 2-of-9 from the field and Shawn Vanzant was 2-of-10. In all, Butler was a whopping 18 percent from the field hitting on 12-of-64 shots. That's incredible. They were 9-of-33 from three-point land which was the only reason this game was close.

UConn wasn't shooting much better hitting on just 34 percent of their shots and going 1-of-11 from three. Jeremy Lamb had 12 second half points which was huge and Alex Oriakhi put up 11 and 11 which was also big, especially on a day where neither side could hit a great shot.

UConn is your 2011 NCAA tournament champion.

It's finally here. The final game fo the 2011 college basketball season. The NCAA Championship will feature Butler vs. Connecticut. Butler's returning to the championship game after losing to Duke last year and UConn is in the title game on the strength of Kemba Walker.

Tip-off comes at 8:23 p.m. (CT) and Jim Nantz and Clark Kellogg are the announcers along with sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson. The game will be televised on CBS.

UConn is a slight favorite -- three points -- so this is expected to be a close game. The way the 2011 NCAA tournament bracket has gone a close game would be very fitting.

Obviously one of the keys for UConn is Kemba Walker. He's one of, if not the best player in the country so containing him will be important. He averaged 23 points and nearly five assists per game.

The 2011 NCAA tournament bracket is nearing its end as we enter the Final Four in Houston. Both games will take place on Saturday night.

Both games are expecting to be close if you believe the latest college basketball odds. Butler is a 2.5-point favorite over VCU while Kentucky has a 2-point edge over Connecticut. This should be a fun day of college basketball because we know we're going to have at least one unexpected underdog in the championship game.
