Charlie Creme, which honestly sounds like a pseudonym of some kind, has his latest bracketology post out for the 2012 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and the Kansas State Wildcats are the only women’s college basketball team represented in his projections. That speaks poorly of local competition, because the Big 12 still got six teams into his bracket.

The Wildcats are listed as a No. 9 seed and would play opposite No. 8 seed California if Creme is right. They would go on to face the winner of the No. 1 Notre Dame versus No. 16 seeded Liberty in the second round. In other words, Kansas State fans might have to prepare for either the biggest early upset of the tournament or a quick exit.

The Baylor Bears are expected to be the top seed after a perfect season in which they dominated the Big 12 and went 34-0. The Women’s NCAA Selection Show is tonight at 6pm CT on ESPN, so local college basketball fans can have another night like last night and enjoy basketball all week in the same fashion.

The Baylor Lady Bears have dominated not only within the Big 12 but in every possible way all season on their way to an incredible 34-0 record. That level of perfection is something the women will have the rest of their lives, but it would also be a disappointment if the best team in the country did not cap it with a National Championship. Thus, that’s the pressure placed upon Baylor as the Women’s NCAA Tournament is announced tonight during the selection show.

Other top hopefuls for a No. 1 seed include Stanford, Notre Dame and possible UConn. Maryland and Duke also have decent arguments for their own top seed. While the Big 12 is very well represented in ESPN’s bracketology, the only local team is Kansas State, coming in as a No. 9 seed. Kansas was listed as one of the final teams out of contention.

The Baylor Bears have dominated in the Big 12 regular season and conquered the rest of the women's college basketball landscape with their undefeated season.

The Baylor Bears have dominated in the Big 12 regular season and conquered the rest of the women's college basketball landscape with their undefeated season. Now they hope to take that shimmering success into the 2012 NCAA Tournament and find a perfect season capped off by a National Championship. However, other seasoned teams like Stanford and Notre Dame will be aiming for the same. As Selection Monday is here for the girls, here's the final AP Top 25:
