The Kansas City Royals wrap up a three-game set against the New York Yankees on Wednesday night, as they look to take the series in Wednesday's rubber match. KC blanked the Yankees 6-0 on Monday behind Felipe Paulino, but lost Tuesday night's contest 3-2.

Both Ned Yost and Joe Girardi have announced the starting lineups for Wednesday night's game, and they are as follows:

The Royals, looking for a left-handed arm, called up top prospect Will Smith from AAA Omaha after an injury to Chris Getz, and starting the first-timer against Andy Petite at Yankees Stadium Wednesday night. The game is Smith's first start in the majors, and the 482nd for Petite, who has come out of retirement twice. According to MLB.com, Smith has a ton of potential, despite the daunting first start:

The left-hander entered the season ranked as the Royals' No. 15 prospect by MLB.com. He pitched well last season, going 13-9 with a 3.85 ERA in 27 starts for Double-A Northwest Arkansas. In nine starts with Omaha this season, Smith went 1-3 with a 4.01 ERA.

Luke Hochevar pitched a quality start, giving up three earned runs over 6 2/3 innings, but the Royals could only manager two runs in a 3-2 loss.

Kansas City scored the first run of the game on a double from Humberto Quintero in the third inning. In the fourth, Jeff Francoeur hit a solo home run to extend the lead to 2-0.

But the Yankees got one run back in the following frame on a solo homer from Robinson Cano. In the bottom of the fifth, the Yankees loaded the bases with no outs. A single from Derek Jeter and a groundout from Curtis Granderson gave the Yankees a 3-2 lead.

Kansas City loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth but failed to score. Alex Gordon hit a ground rule double with one out in the ninth, but back-to-back groundouts ended the game.

The Kansas City Royals put a hurting on the New York Yankees on Monday and look for a similar performance against the pinstripes on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium.

This is the second game of the three-game series between the two teams and the second road matchup of a nine-game road stretch for the Royals. Prior to the most recent 6-0 win over the Yankees, Kansas City had dropped four of its last five games.

Tuesday's pitching duel looks to be a hitter's dream on both sides. The Royals are starting Luke Hochevar, who holds a 3-4 record with a 7.02 ERA on the season. And Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes is barely any better, working with 3-5 record and a 5.23 ERA.

Here is a look at the schedule for the Royals-Yankees game:

Felipe Paulino threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings as the Royals started off the road trip on a high note with Monday's 6-0 win.

Kansas City jumped on New York in the opening frame when Mike Moustakas hit a two-run homer to give the Royals a 2-0 lead.
Jeff Francoeur hit a two-run blast in the seventh as KC put the game out of reach. Tim Collins pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings and Aaron Crow pitched a perfect ninth to close out the game.
