Former Chiefs guard Will Shields is a Hall of Fame finalist for the second time. Will he make it to Canton this year?

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will officially announce its class of 2013 Saturday at the Selection Committee's annual meeting. There are 15 finalists looking for enshrinement, and one of them is former Kansas City Chiefs guard Will Shields.

Shields spent his entire 14-year career with the Chiefs from 1993-2006. Widely regarded as one of the best guards of his generation, he was a fixture on the offensive line, going to 12 Pro Bowls and being named to the All-Pro team two times. This is his second year of eligibility, as he was also a finalist in 2012.

Will Shields make it in this time? It's hard to say. The Selection Committee tends to be stingy with offensive linemen--guards in particular--and this year Larry Allen is also on the ballot. With a maximum of only seven players voted in and a strong first-time class, it looks like an uphill battle for Shields to get the recognition he deserves.

The 2013 class will be officially enshrined in Canton on August 3.
