Coming off the heels of playing in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, Sporting Kansas City begins their quest towards an MLS Cup Championship when they take on D.C. United at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.

Much like last season, Sporting will counting on returning rookie of the year C.J. Sapong, and a cast that includes fellow U.S. National Team members Teal Bunbury and Graham Zusi.

D.C. is lead by longtime MLS veteran Dwayne de Rosario, who returns for his first full season in the nation's capital. Among the others to watch on the attack for D.C. United to watch out for include Hamdi Salihi and 18-year old Andy Najar of of Honduras.

On the injury front, Julio Cesar, Paulo Nagamura, and Zuszi are battling mild injuries that will be something to follow.

Sporting won both matches by 1-0 scores last season, but I look for both teams to be on the offensive as the season gets underway. Gametime is 6:30 CST and unfortunately will not be on tv.
