Sporting KC Vs. Toronto FC: Game Preview

First-place Sporting KC has a chance to make up some ground in the Supporters' Shield race, as they take on last-place Toronto FC on Saturday.

Presswire

Sporting KC, the top team in the Western Conference, is set to face last-place Toronto FC in a key MLS match on Saturday.

While Toronto's playoff hopes have ended, the game remains important in terms of the MLS Cup race due to the fact that Sporting KC sits just three points behind the San Jose Earthquakes, who are in position to earn the Supporters' Shield as the league's best team.

SKC played to a draw in their last matchup, which took place last Sunday vs. the New York Red Bulls. Forward Kei Kamara scored two goals in the match but, unfortunately, one was an own goal, which knotted the game at one apiece in the 28th minute. It stayed that way for good.

Kickoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT and will be televised locally on KSMO, in addition to national coverage being provided via the MLS Direct Kick package.
