According to Chris Sheridan, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant and point guard Russell Westbrook, were named to the preliminary Team USA roster for the 2012 Olympics. Durant and Westbrook join a veritable who's who list of NBA superstars including Dwyane Wade, Blake Griffin and Kobe Bryant.
Durant leads the Thunder in scoring, and is the league's fourth-leading scorer, averaging 25.7 points per game. Westbrook is the team's third leading scorer, averaging 17.3 points per game, and leads the team in assists with 53. Both Durant and Westbrook have helped lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to an 8-2 record, which has them ranked first in the Western Conference.
The 2012 Olympics are being held in London and the Opening Ceremony is scheduled for July 27.
